    Quantitative-Active ETFs

Scott, I read your article entitled "First Quantitative-Active ETFs Earn 5-Star Ratings". Do you know how to develop the rules for sorting and selecting securities for the ETFs? Thanks, Gary

    Gary,

I don't recall writing an article with that title. Most of my writing about ETFs has been about a limited selection of asset class ETFs such as iShares Russell 2000 Value, iShares TIPS, etc. I have also written about "fundamental" index ETFs as opposed to Market Capitalization based ETFs.

    Scott,

The article on 8-19-08 at MorningStar bears your name?

    Thanks,

    Gary,

That is not this Scott Burns.  Scott Burns is a common name.  The author of that article is actually the director of ETF's at morningstar.

    Thanks,

    Zack
