    Primerica

What can you tell me about Primerica?  I currently have funds vested with Vanguard and have met with a Planner that is suggesting I move to Primerica. Past funds have proved a 12% return using American Funds with Primerica

    Re: Primerica

Primerica is a financial services company that is a wholely owned subsidiary of Citicorp. The company has its roots in life insurance sales and grew by recommending that people "buy term and invest the difference"--- so they sold term life insurance and mutual funds.

Primerica is what I term a "legacy distribution system" company in that it is commission driven and will be regularly soliciting you to buy this or that financial product. While I like the American Funds group and appreciate their low operating expenses and value orientation, you can achieve the same things with the index funds you can buy at Vanguard. So I see little reason for your to move or change.
