    How to Invest Properly?

     Hi -

I have read a few articles of yours and was very interested in the way you provide advices to the user community.

I am 29, with around $200,000 in my portfolio. It comprises of $155,000 in CD's,  $40,000 in 401K , $3000 in Roth IRA. I have an annual salary of $110,000. I would like to know what is the best way of investing these assets and creating the right portfolio

    Innovative,

First, start with some basic reading like William Bernsteins' "The Four Pillars of Investing." It maps the financial terrain and starts you down the road to thinking in terms of portfolios and risk. If you want to expand your learning more, but in smaller bites, start visiting his website, www.efficientfrontier.com, and reading his interesting and well written articles. And it won't hurt you to do some exploring on www.assetbuilder.com because we've got 10 years of columns online here, organized by categories.

Two important categories are "Couch Potato Investing": http://assetbuilder.com/tags/Couch+Potato+Investing/default.aspx and

    "Index and ETF Investing": http://assetbuilder.com/tags/Index+_2600_amp_3B00_+ETF+Investing/default.aspx
